The briefing on Year 5 SPN21 Science Curriculum was conducted by the Science Unit, Curriculum Development Department on 11 February at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Primary School from 2.15 to 4.30 p.m. Participants invited to attend the briefing were the Year 5 facilitators and Year 5 primary science teachers from both government and non-government schools in Brunei Muara district. Also present were the Acting Assistant Director of CDD, Mr Freddy Ho Mun Wai, Cikgu Apsah Kurus, the PPKD of Brunei Muara district and other officers from Department of Schools.
The briefing was delivered by the Head of Science Unit, Haji Zulkifli bin Haji Md Yusuf on Year 5 science curriculum with accordance to SPN21. Heavy emphasis was placed on inquiry-based teaching and 'hands-on' activities. The briefing ended with a Question and Answer session where teachers were encouraged to give their comments or suggestions.
